About Chemlon
Materials
Leather, suede and shearling each carry a different kind of character. This is a simple guide to the materials represented across the Chemlon collection.
Material notes
The material sets the pace.
We choose materials for the way they feel, move and change through wear, not only for their first impression. Their natural differences are part of what makes a garment feel lived in.

Across the collection
Different surfaces, one point of view.
Each material brings its own balance of texture, weight and warmth to the finished piece.
Leather
Leather has a natural grain, variation and depth that make each surface distinct. With regular wear, it can soften, settle and develop a patina that becomes part of the garment's character.
Full-grain / natural character
When the natural surface is left visible, the marks and texture of the hide remain part of the design. Small variations are a sign of the material's individual character, not a flaw to be removed.
Suede
Suede has a softer nap and a more tactile surface expression. Its texture catches the light differently as it moves, giving jackets and overshirts a quieter, more relaxed character.
Shearling
Shearling combines a naturally textured exterior with insulating warmth. The pile and surface bring a substantial, distinctive feel to pieces intended for colder weather.
Linings & hardware
Linings shape the interior feel of a garment, while zips, snaps and related hardware support its daily function. Together, they should complement the material and keep the silhouette clean.
Material descriptions are general product guidance. The material composition of an individual garment is shown on its product page.
